Repair and service ticket apps for Shopify POS, compared

Updated · 7 min read
By Invenire Studios, makers of Countermade

The short answer

Shopify POS has no repair-ticket feature; shops use a draft order and a note. As of October 2026, repair apps for Shopify include RepairRight, ClaimCheck, RepairTracker, Repair & Service Ops, Fixio, ShopApron, Unified Repairs Support and, for bike shops, WorkMate and ShopTech. App Store plans run from free to US$299.00 a month. Pick a tracker when jobs move through stages and customers want updates; pick a printed ticket from a draft order when the job just needs writing down.

How do I make a repair ticket or claim check in Shopify POS without an app?

Use a draft order and a cart note. Drafts in Shopify POS need POS Pro. Add the labor as a custom sale, write the customer’s name and phone, the item, the fault and the pickup day in the cart note, and save the cart as a draft order. At pickup, load the draft into the cart and check out.

In Shopify POS:

  1. From the smart grid, tap Add custom sale, enter a title (for example “Service: rear wheel”) and the price, then tap Add to cart.
  2. In the cart, tap the horizontal menu icon, tap Add Note, write the customer’s name and phone, the item, fault and pickup day, then tap Save.
  3. Tap the horizontal menu icon again and tap Create draft order.
  4. At pickup, open the horizontal menu, tap Load draft order, choose the draft, then tap Load to cart and check out. Drafts created since April 1, 2025 are deleted after a year with no edits.

If you want the customer to have a copy of the note, Shopify lets you include order notes on your receipts. Once you take a deposit, the job becomes a partially paid order.

Printing the job is the awkward part. The POS draft steps include no print option, and in the admin “Draft orders can’t be printed”. The guide to printing a draft order from POS covers the workarounds, and when Shopify POS order notes don’t print covers the note itself.

A gift receipt won’t work as the claim ticket, because Shopify’s new receipt template no longer lists line items on it (see gift receipts without prices).

Which repair ticket apps work with Shopify POS in 2026?

As of October 2026, five repair apps state Shopify POS intake on their App Store listings: RepairRight, ClaimCheck and Fixio, plus RepairTracker and Repair & Service Ops on their paid Pro plans. ShopTech, for bike shops, checks out finished work orders in Shopify POS. ShopApron, WorkMate and Unified Repairs Support also track repairs, without saying how a ticket starts in POS.

Pricing differs: ticket-limited plans (RepairRight, RepairTracker, Repair & Service Ops, Unified Repairs Support), a service allowance with a fee per extra (Fixio), one flat monthly fee (ClaimCheck, ShopApron, and ShopTech plus texts) or a price per location (WorkMate).

Facts from each app’s Shopify App Store listing, and for WorkMate from Shopify’s bike-store page, as of October 2026.

Merchants asked the Shopify Community for a repair app that prints and emails tickets between 2018 and 2021. Most of these apps launched in 2026 with few or no reviews, so run a real drop-off through the free plan or trial before you commit.

What’s the difference between Shopify repair ticket apps like RepairRight, ClaimCheck and Fixio?

Shopify repair apps differ most in how much of the job they run. RepairRight, RepairTracker, WorkMate and ShopTech go furthest, into parts, repair orders with a signature line, a bike-shop back office or bike suppliers. ClaimCheck, Fixio, ShopApron and Unified Repairs Support stay closer to the ticket and its status. Repair & Service Ops adds customer messaging as its plans go up.

RepairRight runs the job from counter to pickup. Staff take it in through a POS tile, parts are drawn from Shopify inventory and restocked if a job is canceled, and deposits and pickup balances are billed through Shopify checkout. RepairTracker prints repair orders even on its free plan, and its listing shows one with a checklist, terms and a signature line; POS intake, deposits and payments come with Pro.

WorkMate goes beyond tickets into a bike-shop back office: work orders from start to finish, technician time, special orders, purchase orders and staff schedules, with automated repair status updates for customers. ShopTech links bike suppliers such as Trek, QBP, J&B and BTI, prints work orders, receipts and labels, and texts customers a link to track the repair.

ClaimCheck tickets hold the customer, item, requested work, notes, due date and quoted total, and a ticket can stand alone without a sale. Fixio works inside POS, takes payment through your existing POS options, and charges for each service past the plan’s allowance (US$0.25 to US$1.00, by plan). ShopApron connects each repair ticket to the customer’s record in Shopify and tracks its status. Unified Repairs Support handles repair requests for online stores, with email templates at each status.

Does a Shopify repair counter need a repair tracker or just a printed ticket?

If items sit with you for days, pass through stages such as diagnosed and awaiting parts, and customers keep asking whether it’s ready, a tracker earns its fee. If most jobs are same-week drop-offs and the real need is the job written down for whoever does it, a printed ticket from a draft order is the simpler fit.

Your shop Usually needs A good starting point
Bike shop, tune-ups and builds Stages, scheduling, technician time RepairTracker if you want intake in Shopify POS (Pro); ShopTech for POS checkout and supplier links; WorkMate for a full bike-shop back office; ShopApron for bike-shop repair tickets
Electronics, appliance or espresso repair Diagnosis, parts, ready for pickup, customer updates RepairRight, whose stages include diagnosed and awaiting parts; Fixio if you want intake inside POS and a per-service app fee (5 a month free)
Jewelry repair and resizing A claim ticket and a status link Repair & Service Ops, which names jewelers, or RepairRight
Alterations and tailoring A tag on the garment with measurements and the pickup day Repair & Service Ops, which names tailors, or a draft order plus Prep Ticket (made-to-order job tickets)
Occasional drop-off jobs, same week The job written down for whoever does it A draft order plus Prep Ticket

How do I print a repair or alterations ticket without prices from Shopify POS?

Prep Ticket, from Countermade (the Shopify POS apps from Invenire Studios), fills the printing gap above: staff save the drop-off as a draft order in Shopify POS, and it prints a ticket with the item names, quantities, customer and notes, and no prices. For alterations, jewelry resizing or any same-week drop-off, that’s the job sheet for the bench.

It prints through the iPad’s print dialog to a printer the iPad can reach (AirPrint). It needs Shopify POS Pro, the plan you already need for drafts.

For example, an alterations counter taking in a pair of trousers: add the hem as a custom sale, put the measurements and pickup day in the note, save the draft, and print the ticket from the saved draft to pin to the garment.

Next step

Write down what your counter does with a drop-off today. If the answer is “a tag and a note”, start with a printed ticket from a draft order; if it’s a whiteboard of jobs and a phone that keeps ringing, try a tracker’s free plan or trial from the table above.

Common questions

Does Shopify POS have a repair ticket feature?
No, there’s no dedicated repair-ticket feature. Shops save the job as a draft order on POS Pro, with the item and fault in a cart note, or install a repair app from the Shopify App Store.
What is the cheapest repair ticket app for Shopify POS?
As of October 2026, RepairRight (5 tickets a month), Fixio (5 services), RepairTracker (10 active tickets), Repair & Service Ops (20 tickets) and Unified Repairs Support (10 repair requests) have free plans. Fixio runs inside Shopify POS; RepairTracker’s POS intake starts on Pro at US$29.00 a month, and Repair & Service Ops’ POS extension on Pro at US$9.00.
Which repair app is made for bike shops?
WorkMate and ShopTech. Shopify describes WorkMate as designed exclusively for bike shops and, as of October 2026, lists WorkMate Premium at US$112.50 a month per location with the bike-shop discount. ShopTech checks out work orders in Shopify POS from US$299.00 a month. ShopApron and RepairTracker also name bike repairs.
Can I take a deposit when a customer drops off a repair?
Yes. On the Select payments screen, tap Split payment, enter the deposit, tap Mark as partially paid, then confirm with Mark as partial; the job becomes a partially paid order. Collect the balance later from the order with Collect payment. Some EU locations, including France, Italy and Spain, can’t mark a payment as partially paid.
Can I use a gift receipt as a repair claim ticket?
Not as an item list. Since August 11, 2026, gift receipts on Shopify’s new receipt template no longer show line items, and the gift receipt option only appears when you have a receipt printer.
