Privacy notice

This notice covers the countermade.com website. Countermade is the line of Shopify POS apps from Invenire Studios, an Australian business, which is responsible for the information described here. Each Countermade app will have its own privacy policy, covering the store data that app handles, published before the app is available.

What we collect

Early-access sign-ups. When you join early access, we store your email address, the store URL if you give one, which app you asked about (or that you want to hear about both), and when you signed up. Signing up again for the same app updates that record rather than adding a second one. That’s all the form sends.

Emails you send us. If you write to hello@countermade.com, we keep the message and your address so we can reply.

Request logs. Every visit to the site passes through Cloudflare, which keeps a short-lived log of each request: the page asked for, the time, your IP address, your browser details and the approximate location Cloudflare works out from the IP address. We use these logs only to find and fix problems with the site.

Nothing else. The site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it has to check that a visitor isn’t a bot.

How we use it

We use your email only to tell you when the app you asked about is ready to try (or each app, if you asked about both), and to reply to you. We don’t sell or share it, and we don’t add you to a newsletter.

Who sees it

Only the Invenire Studios people who work on Countermade read the sign-up list, the request logs and email sent to hello@countermade.com. Cloudflare holds the sign-ups and logs for us as our host, and Fastmail holds the email sent to hello@countermade.com as our email provider.

Where it’s stored

The site, its request logs and its sign-up list (in Cloudflare Workers KV) run on Cloudflare. Cloudflare stores and serves data from data centers around the world, so your details may be held outside Australia, for example in the United States. Email to hello@countermade.com is stored by Fastmail, whose servers are in the United States. Like any web host, Cloudflare also processes your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

How long we keep it

• Early-access sign-ups: until the app you asked about launches (or the second app, if you asked about both) and for up to 12 months after, then we delete them.
• Request logs: Cloudflare deletes them automatically after a few days (at most 7).
• Emails: as long as we need them to deal with what you asked.

You can ask us to delete your details at any time.

Your choices

To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email hello@countermade.com from the address you signed up with. We’ll act on it within 30 days and delete your sign-up from the list, not just mark it. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us first; you can also complain to the privacy regulator where you live, such as the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

If we change this notice, we’ll update the date at the top of the page.
