How to take corporate gift orders on Shopify

The short answer

Build a corporate gift order as a Shopify draft, either in the admin under Orders > Drafts or from the Shopify POS Pro cart. If the buyer pays by company card, send the draft’s secure checkout link. If accounts payable pays, choose Payment due later and Net 30. For several recipients, ship everything to the office as one order, or duplicate the draft once per recipient address, then pack each box from Shopify’s packing slip.

Should I build a corporate gift order in the Shopify admin or in Shopify POS?

Either works: a draft saved in Shopify POS opens in the admin, and the other way round. Use POS at the counter, and the admin when the request came by email. A custom shipping rate added in the admin is removed when you load that draft into POS, so if you’ll send the link from POS, add shipping there, not in the admin.

In the Shopify admin:

  1. Go to Orders > Drafts and click Create order.
  2. Add the products: for example, 40 boxes at US$45.00 come to US$1,800.00 before any discount, wrapping or shipping. For a charge that isn’t a product, such as branded wrapping, use Add custom item and enter the name, price and quantity.
  3. For a volume discount, add a custom amount off the line items, or an existing discount code.
  4. Add the company contact as the customer.
  5. Add a note with the delivery date and any card wording, and a tag such as corporate-2026 so you can find every corporate order later.

In Shopify POS Pro: build the cart, tap the … (More actions) menu at the top of the cart, then Create draft order. Send cart sits in the same menu (see below).

Create draft order and Send cart sit in the same cart menu in Shopify POS Pro.

How do I invoice a company for a corporate gift order on Shopify?

A buyer with a company card pays through the checkout link in the invoice email. A company paying through accounts payable gets the same draft set to Payment due later with a term such as Net 30. For an order built at the counter, Shopify POS Pro can email the cart instead.

Route Best when Needs
Card by link The buyer has a company card A draft order, sent from the admin or POS
Invoice on terms The company pays through accounts payable A draft order, sent from the admin; deposits on terms are Plus only
Email the cart from POS You built the order at the counter Shopify POS Pro; full payment only
Card keyed by you The buyer reads you the card number Shopify Payments only

Card by link. In the draft’s Payments section, click Send invoice, add a message, then Review invoice and Send invoice. The buyer uses the link to enter billing details, choose shipping and pay. To use your own email, click Share > Copy link (or text the payment link).

When you send the invoice or share the link, Product prices starts locked, so later price changes don’t reach it; leave it on. Separately, since October 31, 2025, prices on a draft checkout may change with your Markets settings if the buyer updates the shipping address, so put the recipient’s or the office’s address on the draft before you send the invoice. Don’t mark the draft Paid before the money arrives, or the invoice link stops working.

Invoice on terms. In the Payment section, select Payment due later, choose from the Payment terms drop-down (Due on receipt, Due on fulfillment, Net 7 to Net 90, or a Fixed date), click Save, then send the invoice. You can’t send an invoice with terms if the draft is in a local currency other than your store currency.

Email the cart from POS. In Shopify POS Pro, open the cart’s … menu, tap Send cart, enter the buyer’s email and tap Send; they get a checkout link for the whole cart.

Card keyed by you. This needs Shopify Payments, and taking card payments over the phone covers it.

Can I put a PO number and Net 30 terms on a Shopify corporate order?

Yes. Net 30 works on a plain draft, as above. For a purchase order number field and terms set once per company location, use Shopify B2B. It’s on the Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus plans but not Starter or Retail, and taking remote payments from trade customers covers setup.

How do I send corporate gifts to several addresses from one Shopify order?

Each draft order carries one customer and their shipping address, so ship everything to the office as one order, or make one draft per recipient. Each copy then becomes its own order to pay and pack. If the office collects, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery, click Pickup in store, choose your location and check Let customers pick up orders directly at this location.

To make one draft per recipient:

  1. Build the first draft, including the discount and shipping.
  2. Go to Orders > Drafts, open it, and click Duplicate. The copy keeps the line items, custom items, customer information, notes and tags.
  3. Change the address with Edit shipping address.
  4. Add the discount and shipping rate again: they aren’t duplicated.
  5. Repeat for each recipient.

If those 40 boxes go to 40 people, one draft per recipient means 40 checkouts for a card buyer, or 40 invoices for an accounts team on terms. Ask the buyer which they prefer before you build them.

For a long recipient list checking out online, Giftship adds multi-address shipping. As of October 2026 the app is rated 4.8 from 270 reviews, and the feature is included from its US$59.99-a-month Essential plan (an add-on on the US$29.99-a-month Micro plan).

For a single hamper with a card message, see gift basket phone orders.

How do I pack corporate gifts without a price ending up in the box?

Shopify’s packing slip lists each item and quantity, so it shows what goes in the box, not what the company paid. Open the order and click Print > Print packing slips, or bulk-print from Orders. The admin can’t print a draft until it has become an order (every way to print a draft), so a card-link order prints once the buyer pays.

Don’t use a gift receipt as the item list. Since August 11, 2026, Shopify’s new receipt template no longer lists line items on gift receipts (gift receipts without prices has the detail). For card messages, see printing a gift message from Shopify POS.

For a Net 30 order, or to start packing 40 boxes before the buyer pays, Prep Ticket, from Countermade, the Shopify POS apps from Invenire Studios, prints a price-free ticket from the draft in Shopify POS: item names, quantities, customer and notes. It works on drafts made in POS or the admin, prints through the iPad’s print dialog and needs Shopify POS Pro.

How do I know which corporate gift orders have been paid?

When the buyer pays through the checkout link, the draft becomes an order marked Paid. Until then it stays under Orders > Drafts, so any draft there with your corporate tag hasn’t been paid. In Orders, filter by Tagged with and your tag to see the season’s paid orders together. Knowing when a payment link is paid has more.

Use Send cart, above, or make the link with Pay Link, from Countermade, which is built for a large order at a busy counter. Staff see the order’s total up front before the link is made, with a note when checkout will add shipping, and a double tap still makes one payment link, not two.

The buyer pays on Shopify’s own secure checkout, so staff never see or type card details, and Pay Link takes the full amount. Staff can see in Pay Link whether the link has been paid, so they can answer when accounts asks.

Pay Link needs Shopify POS Pro. Checkout asks for a delivery address and may add shipping, so if the office collects, turn on pickup in store as above (local pickup for payment links).

The order’s Shopify total, excluding shipping, as staff see it in Pay Link before the link is made.

Next step

Open Orders > Drafts and build your first corporate order, tagged so you can duplicate the order next year rather than an old draft, since drafts are deleted after a year of inactivity. Pay Link and Prep Ticket aren’t on the Shopify App Store yet: get early access and we’ll email you when they’re ready to try.

Common questions

Can a company pay a Shopify order on Net 30 terms?
Yes. On the draft order, select Payment due later and choose Net 30 from the Payment terms drop-down. Shopify can also send up to five scheduled payment reminder emails for an order with payment terms.
Can I start this year’s corporate order from last year’s?
Yes. Open last year’s order in the Shopify admin and click Duplicate to get a draft with the same line items and customer. Start from the order, not an old draft: drafts created since April 1, 2025 are deleted after a year of inactivity.
Can one Shopify order ship to several addresses?
A Shopify draft order carries one customer and their shipping address. To send gifts to several people, ship everything to the office in one order, or duplicate the draft once per recipient and change the shipping address on each copy.
Can I print a gift receipt to pack corporate gifts?
Not as an item list. Since August 11, 2026, Shopify’s new receipt template no longer lists line items on gift receipts. Use the packing slip, which you can print once the draft has become an order.
Do I need Shopify Plus to invoice a company?
No. A draft order invoice with Payment due later doesn’t need Shopify B2B, and B2B’s PO numbers and company terms are on the Basic, Grow and Advanced plans as well as Plus. Only deposit requirements, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment need Shopify Plus.
